Birmingham City Council Weekly Refuse CollectionThe Council collects refuse (bins or black bags) weekly on Mondays, garden refuse (bins or bags, paid for service) fortnightly from February to November, and recycled materials (glass/metal and paper) fortnightly, alternating weeks betwwen garden refuse and recycled materials.
Birmingham City Council Bulk Refuse CollectionThe City Council has found it necessary to introduce a collection charge for frequent users who require more than 3 household bulky collections (of up to 6 items per collection) in a calendar year. Please follow the link for details.
But before you decide to get rid of anything, please consider if it can be reused. Ladywood Furniture Project (0121 455 7133), Community Transport (0121 773 2858) or Betel (0121 436 5562) will collect furniture that is in reasonable condition and offer it to people on low incomes, or you could try getting rid of it on your local Freecycle network.
